FENNVILLE CHAMBER HAS EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW
WITH EASTER BUNNY’S HELPER
The Easter Bunny has to cover a lot of territory in the days
leading up to the big day. Of course we all know that there
are many who serve as the Easter Bunny’s assistants to
make this wide coverage possible. The Fennville Chamber
of Commerce was fortunate in obtaining the following
exclusive interview with one of the Easter Bunny’s many
assistants. She’ll be visiting the Fennville area schools the
week before Easter to greet the children and spread the
word about our upcoming Easter Egg Hunt.
Chamber: I see that Easter is pretty early again this year,
April 12th. So, what can we expect in the way
of Easter Bunny activities?
Bunny: As always, we’ll have our traditional Easter Egg hunt
on the Saturday before Easter. That’ll be
April 11th. I’ll start the Easter Egg hunt promptly at 2:00 pm.
I look forward to seeing all the Fennville
kids again this year. We’re going to have lots more eggs
filled with candy than we did in the past – a 50%
increase as a matter of fact. We had two thousand eggs last
year. This year we’ll have three thousand!
Chamber: Wow, that’s a lot of eggs! Where do all these
eggs and the candy come from?
Bunny: My good friends Margee and Steve Overhiser,
owners of Main Street Market, provide all the
candy and eggs. They also provide the many very nice
prizes we give out to the kids.
Chamber: Oh, there are prizes too?
Bunny: For sure! Some of the eggs will have a coupon
inside along with the candy. Each coupon will
identify a specific prize the lucky finder may claim.
Chamber: Seems like you’ll need a lot of space for this
event. Where will it be held?
Bunny: Well, that depends on the weather. Once we
schedule these events we don’t want to have to
change our plans and disappoint the children. Weather
permitting; we’ll have our egg hunt on the upper
level playground of the Elementary School. If the weather
doesn’t cooperate we’ll have it inside the
Elementary School in the gym and hallways like we did last
year. So, rain, snow or shine, there will be an
Easter Egg Hunt in Fennville on April 11th at 2:00 pm.
Chamber: We’re all hoping we can have it outside this year.
For the past three years we’ve actually had
snow on the ground so we had to have it inside the school.
We like the idea of having the egg hunt rain,
snow or shine though. That way the kids can count on
having fun at this event regardless of the
weather.
Bunny: Yes, that’s right. The kids do look forward to this
and we don’t want them to be disappointed.
We’ll have four different areas defined for the various age
groups. I’ve found it works best to break up
the kids into various age groups so we don’t have the little
ones overwhelmed by the bigger kids. We’ll
group them like this: ages 1 – 2, 3 – 4, 5 – 6 and 7 – 8.
Each group will have its own specified area where
they can pick up their eggs.
Chamber: I certainly hope all the children in Fennville get
the word about the Easter Egg Hunt. They won’t want to
miss out on the fun and the possibility of getting a nice prize.
Bunny: I’ll be making the rounds of the lower elementary
grades in Fennville Schools the week before Easter. In
years past I visited the kids during their lunch period in the
cafeteria. It warms my heart to see the enthusiastic reaction
I always get.
Chamber: We really appreciate your taking the time to visit
with us. Let me summarize the details of
your upcoming visit so everyone will know when and where
to come.
Where: Elementary School Playground, weather permitting,
otherwise inside the school.
When: Saturday, April 11th promptly at 2:00 pm
Who: All children ages 1 to 8.
