Salt of the Earth 2011 Winter House Concert Series

The popular southwest Michigan restaurant and music venue Salt of the Earth is pleased to announce its Sunday House Concert Series for winter 2011. All House Concerts begin at 7:00 PM. Sunday January 16- Red Tail Ring- "Michael Beauchamp and Laurel Premo come together to form Red Tail Ring, a duo with roots firmly planted in Appalachian old-time and folk music, and branches reaching out to forge new arrangements complete with haunting harmonies and an expansive dynamic range. Red Tail Ring, in its name, seeks to call to mind tales of the backwoods, wild in their formation, and wise at their core." $5 reserved

Sunday January 23- Rachael Davis and Jake Armerding- One of Michigan’s finest singersongqriters Rachael Davis appears in a very special concert with Boston violinist/singer/songwriter Jake Armerding. $10 reserved

Sunday January 30- Junior Valentine and Steve ‘Doc’ Yankee- West MI veteran blues guitarist/singer Junior Valentine joins forces with roots pianist Steve 'Doc' Yankee for an evening of New Orleans flavored music. $6 reserved.

Sunday February 6- Shari Kane and Big Dave- Ann Arbor’s amazing fingerstyle guitarists and singers Shari Kane and Big Dave Steele play tunes from their new cd. $10 reserved.

Sunday February 13- May Erlewine with Seth Bernard- Michigan favorite singer songwriter May Erlewine in concert with partner Seth Bernard. May is re-releasing her CD 'Love Labor' at this special Valentine's Day concert. “But yet again, the highlight of the night was the first performer, Daisy May. Accompanied by fellow Earthworks musician Seth Bernard, May graced the audience with a voice that rivals Patsy Cline in strength and beauty." -Michigan Daily, $10 reserved.

Sunday February 20- Nobody’s Darlin’- an ‘all-girl’ string band based in Grand Rapids, specializing in old timey, bluegrass, gospel and classic country tunes. “Watching a performance by Nobody’s Darlin’ conjures up the essence of a simpler time, before electric guitars and pyrotechnics. The sound of Nobody’s Darlin’ strong female voices meld fluidly over acoustic instruments that resonate true

Sunday February 27- Danny Schmidt and Carrie Elkin- Austin based singer/songwriters Danny Schmidt and Carrie Elkin are in for a special duo show. Sunday March 13- Bill Staines- For more than forty years, Bill Staines has traveled back and forth across North America, singing his songs that appear in grade school music books, church hymnals, and scouting campfire songbooks.
