Fennville of Chamber of Commerce and the Fennville Downtown Development
Authority are hosting an informative seminar regarding the upcoming changes to
health insurance. The event will take
place on Tuesday, April 16th at the Fennville District Library. The event will begin at 9:00am and last until
11:00am and is free for GFCC and DDA district members. For any non-member, the cost is $5.
The seminar will be conducted by Fran Wallace. Fran
Wallace was Chief Deputy Commissioner of Michigan’s Office of Financial and
Insurance Regulation from 2000 until her retirement from state government in
2008. Over her 30 year career, she developed an expertise in regulatory and
public policy issues related to commercial and personal insurance, HMOs, Blue
Cross Blue Shield, and insurance broker licensing. She previously served as
Deputy Commissioner for Licensing & Enforcement and Director of the Health
Plans Division at OFIR. Since 2008, Ms. Wallace has been a consultant on health
care reform and insurance issues.
Ms. Wallace graduated from
Vanderbilt University, in Nashville, Tennessee with a B.A. in Economics and
French. She earned an M.A. in Economics from the University of Missouri, at
Kansas City. Ms. Wallace lives in Holt with her husband Dave.
