Dawson Elementary Students Donate
You may enjoy this sweet story from our Director, Mimi:
"I just got back from one of my favorite parts of my job - I was invited to Dawson Elementary School to have my picture taken. Cindy Tibbitts (IL Volunteer) class and four other classes had brought in money during March Reading Month for Imagination Library and they wanted to present the check to me in the amount of $516.27!
After the picture was taken, I asked the kids there where they got the money to bring in. The answers were varied, "I brought in my change jar", I found money under the couch cushions", I had been saving money for a toy but decided to donate it instead", but my favorite was the little girl that said, "I brought in my tooth fairy money."
Okay, so I may have misted up a bit. Kids are just awesome!

Foster Parents Needed in Michigan
The State of Michigan has a goal to license 1450 new foster homes by June 30th this year.
Campaign Update: Another yearly goal EXCEEDED beyond expectations!
Last year, we set a goal to raise $1,000,000 for the very first time, and we EXCEEDED it. Our campaign ended at $1,025,000 last year and went beyond our expectations.
This year, we have already exceeded last year's goals and we will continue to watch that fundraising number rise until the end of May. The combined power and dedication of our contributors and donors continues to prove that when we LIVE UNITED any dream can possibly come true.
