Community Center To Host Local Authors Event

Glenn,MI—-The Glenn Community Center, a 501[c][3] organization, is hosting a “Local Authors Event” on Sunday, October 23, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Center located at 6953 114th Avenue in Glenn. The event will feature 5 local authors from the Glenn and surrounding lakeshore area.The authors are Pearl Ahnen, Colleen Rae, Jeanne Hallgren, Sally Sotos, and Shiloh. The 5 local authors will be on hand to sell and sign their books in print. This event is also unique because one of the authors is a golden retriever for Hospice.

Pearl Kastran Ahnen has written, edited or contributed to twelve books. Five books Ahnen has written include: Rough Copy, Revealed by Fire", Balancing Act, Daughter of Immigrants, and Legends and Legacies. Colleen Rae has written five novels; Mohave Mambo is her debut novel. Chihuahua Enchilada is the sequel to Mohave Mambo and continues the adventures of Lola Raines Morales, the exotic dancer.

She was also included in an anthology of California writers called, Nearly Naked.

Jeanne Hallgren is a local historian who has been fascinated with local history since she was a teenager. She has written two books.: Piers, Pancakes and People chronicles the history of Glenn, and Bounty By the Lake covers the history of Casco Township.

Sally Sotos first book is Mom’s Funny, But Not Ha-Ha Funny. It is a collection of Sally’s published columns, written in the spirit of Midwestern humorists Erma Bombeck (The Grass Is Always Greener Over The Septic Tank) and Jean Shepard (A Christmas Story). Shiloh is our Nation’s #1 Hospice Dog and beloved pet of Jerry & Barb Hill. Shiloh is a Golden Retriever. His career accomplishment is over 1,200 Hospice Facility Visits. Au-thor of Shiloh Speaks - A Therapy Dog’s Memoir of Unconditional Love.
