RAY FEHER
COACH
1959-1968
INDUCTED 2009
Ray Feher coached basketball and baseball at
Fennville High School as well as served as Athletic Director.
Coach Feher and his wonderful wife Joyce are legends in
the minds of the students who attended Fennville High
School in the 60’s. During his tenure as a coach, his
basketball teams won three District Championships. One of
these phenomenal wins was against Bangor, the defending
State Champions. Under his leadership as Athletic Director,
Fennville won championships in basketball, baseball, football
and track. Coach Feher enjoyed coaching because, “It
teaches you that hard work, honesty and treating others as
you want to be treated leads to success, no matter what the
field of endeavor.
Coach Feher stated, “Sports is all about the students,
not the coaches. Coaches are to steer them in the right
direction.” Coach Feher had the opportunity to coach and
provide guidance to two outstanding athletes – Rich Jordan
and his son Butch Feher who played college basketball at
Vanderbilt and continued his basketball career playing with
the Phoenix Suns in the National Basketball Association.
