If you are interested in practicing oil painting, Dawn
Stafford of Peachbelt Studio is pleased and excited to offer
a two day outdoor painting workshop at their schoolhouse
studio this summer.
The workshop will take place on August 1st and 2nd and
will include a mixture of theory, application, and
experimentation through drawing and painting exercises,
detailed discussion of the color palette, and painting
demonstration. Beginners are always welcome. Day one
will be getting started with group discussion/demonstration
followed by individual drawing and painting studies. Day
two you will be working individually, painting on canvas(s)
in the landscape. Additional group demonstration on
request, cost of the workshop is $175.
Over the past few years, Stafford has been slowly tending
the schoolhouse grounds planting flowers and trees, and
clearing the orchard hill. As a result there are many
interesting views that were not possible before of the
architecture, landscapy, shade trees and sky. All are open
to artistic interpretation in any painting style. Stafford
reports that there are no biting bugs thanks to a perpetual
breeze. Tables, tents and chairs will be provided as well
as beverages/snacks and a few easels to share. Please
bring your own if you have your own easel please bring it
with you. You will need to also bring your own painting
supplies, and a bagged lunch, both days to eat during our
noon-time break. A starving artist is not a productive one.
